How we help
Chiropractic care on the Northern Beaches for people who want to understand what is actually going on before anything gets treated. Dr Murray Warner has practised for 21 years, and the first appointment is 45 minutes because that is how long a proper look takes.
Most people arrive having already been told what is wrong with them, usually without anyone having looked properly. A friend says it is a disc. The internet says it is sciatica. Someone at work says they had the same thing. We work the other way around and find out first.
Your first visit is a 45-minute appointment built around our 31 point assessment. Murray takes a full history, watches how you move, and examines your spine and the joints around it by hand, region by region. Where imaging would genuinely change what we recommend, we will say so and arrange it.
Then you sit down and get told what was found, in plain English. Not a diagram and a sales pitch. What is happening, why we think it is happening, and what your realistic options are. Some people need a short course of care. Some need a referral somewhere else. Some need to change one thing about how they sit at work. You get told which one you are.
You leave knowing where you stand. No guesswork, no lock-in, and no package you have to commit to before you understand what you are committing to.
That approach is the whole reason the first appointment is 45 minutes rather than the ten or fifteen that is common. It is difficult to find the cause of something in ten minutes, and most people arriving here have already had the ten-minute version somewhere else.
Chiropractic in Australia is a regulated health profession. Murray is registered with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Chiropractors Association. Care here stays inside what chiropractic is genuinely for, which is the musculoskeletal system, and when something falls outside that you get referred rather than kept in the chair.
A controlled, specific movement applied to a joint that is not moving the way it should. Quick, and often with the noise people expect. The noise is gas releasing in the joint, not anything grinding or clicking back into place.
Slower, gentler techniques using far less force, for acutely painful backs, older patients, kids, pregnancy, or simply anyone who would rather. Plenty of people here are cared for entirely this way.
Every time, without exception. You will know what is coming before it comes, and if something does not feel right we stop and change the approach. You can say no to anything at any point.
It runs 45 minutes. History, movement testing, a hands-on examination of your spine and joints, and imaging where it is warranted. You will not be adjusted before Murray understands what he is looking at.
Most people describe a quick pressure and then a release. If you are in acute pain the technique is modified to work around it. You will always be told what is coming first.
It depends on what is found and how long it has been there. You get an honest estimate at the report visit rather than an open-ended plan. If you are not improving the way we expected, we say so and change the approach or refer you on.
No. Chiropractors in Australia are primary contact practitioners, so you can book directly. If you are on a care plan from your GP, bring the paperwork.
A new patient assessment is $59 for the full 45-minute appointment. Ongoing fees are explained before you commit to anything.
